Ella Maher To All Instructors
Teacher
Ella’s life has been shaped by art and the natural world. Born in the Netherlands, raised in Adelaide, and later studying at university in Sydney, she eventually made her home in Athens, Georgia, where she has been homeschooling since her children reached school age.
For Ella, education is an invitation to wonder. She treasures the freedom homeschooling provides, the space to follow curiosity, dive deeply into ideas, and grow alongside her children. She believes art runs through every subject and shapes the way students observe, think, and create. She delights in helping students recognize creativity within all learning through careful observation, thoughtful making, and the shaping of ideas into something tangible and meaningful. For her, art is present wherever there is attention, imagination, and care.
When she is not teaching, Ella can often be found outdoors gardening, hiking, foraging, and weaving baskets from gathered materials. She enjoys crafting traditional herbal remedies and finds satisfaction in needlework and sewing.
